Good history although think mentioning that a big part of the conflict is protestants emerged in Ireland out of the milieu of Scottish soldiers who settled in the north after the wars of conquest which is another parallel with Palestine in the eyes of some
Actually another interesting aspect is how a large part of the base of support for rangers emerged out of migration due to the Highland Clearances, an event also sometimes described as an ethnic cleansing. So you have this ethnic divide that traces its roots back to Glasgow being the collision point of two separate waves of displaced peoples
Oh wow that's super interesting. I'm very interested in the United Kingdom and the ethnic composition of it. If you have any article or video about that, please share it. Happy that we got in touch :)
Unfortunately not. Mainly going off growing up with a fathers family history being migration south from the clearances and mothers family history being migration east during the hunger. My gut feels reading a book about the history of the clearances and then a history of The Hunger you would begin to see parallels emerge in ethnic composition (particularly in the clearances highlighting the different ethnic groups in lowlanders vs highlanders) but this is just a gut feeling
A quick search turned up this scholar paper that seems along the right lines of comparison between how the blight affected both areas but paid access im afraid :(
Thank you so much again, Chubbs. Your comments are so valuable and I'd love to dive more into this. I will come back to you, once I decide to write an article about it. Appreciating your comments a lot.

Thanks for mentioning it! I did not know that part.
